Oscar Ulysess Terry, 84 of Meadows of Dan, VA died on Saturday September 26, 2020 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection, He was born on May 29, 1936 in Patrick County, VA to the late Mecie Agnes Culler Terry and Rex Harwood Terry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Terry and one brother; Oneal Terry.
He attended New Dan River Primitive Baptist Church and was also a trustee of the church cemetery. He worked at United Elastic Plant in Stuart for thirty five years.
Surviving are two daughters; Agnes Mauldin of Mount Airy, NC, Ada Ashley of Stuart, VA, one son; Byrle Oscar Terry of Meadows of Dan, VA, one sister; Ola Mae Terry Bowman of Meadows of Dan, VA, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday October 3, 2020 at New River Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Alan Terry and Elder Cleo Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday October 2, 2020 from 12 noon until 7:00 pm at the home of Oscar Terry and also will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at New Dan River Primitive Baptist Church.
Due to the covid-19 outbreak, all restrictions mandated by the guidelines set forth by the state must be followed.
