Overby, Kendrick tapped to lead board

Clayton Kendrick (left) was elected to serve as vice-chairman of the Patrick County Board of Supervisors, and Andrew Overby (right) was elected to serve as chairman.

The Patrick County Board of Supervisors elected its chairman and vice-chairman for the upcoming year at its Monday, Jan. 12 organizational meeting.

Andrew Overby, of the Dan River District, will serve as chairman, and Clayton Kendrick, of the Mayo River District, was elected to serve as vice-chairman.

Overby was nominated in a motion by Kendrick.

Kendrick was nominated by outgoing chairman Jonathan Wood, of the Peters Creek District.

Both votes were unanimous.

In other matters, the board:

*Adopted the Rules of Procedure as amended.

*Adopted the 2026 meeting schedule.

*Adopted the 2026 committee appointments.

*Received Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Conflict of Interest training.
