PARC Workshop clients and staff show the ‘Friendship’ Barn Quilt they created. The showpiece is included on the Barn Quilt Trail. The project came about after staff members Laura Layman, Karen Young and Patty Pack took a barn quilt class at the Spencer Penn Centre and shared the finished project with clients at PARC. The clients “loved it and asked if they could do one,” Layman said, adding that Lauren Byron, an artist that teaches the class at Spencer Penn, was asked if she could put the design on a board. “We searched online for designs and found one that means ‘friendship.’ We thought that was a very appropriate design since everyone here is family and friends,” Layman said. Board member Lisa Martin, also of the Reynolds Homestead, provided the necessary information for PARC to be included on the Barn Quilt Trail.
