Patrick County High School recently held its National Beta Club induction ceremony.
On September 8, 97 students were inducted into the National Beta Club at Patrick County High School. These students were selected for membership based on their academic standing and character and join more than 500,000 members across the United States and beyond. National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth group in the United States. Its mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
Each of the officers read a characteristic of Beta aloud to the inductees. Then, one of the sponsors, Mrs. Libby Wood, led the inductees through the pledge. Each individual then came onto the stage one by one to shake her hand and receive their certificate.
“The PCHS Beta Induction Ceremony was a beautiful celebration of our students’ hard work and academic success. The large number of inductees and a packed auditorium speak volumes about the value Patrick County places on education. I’m grateful for the strong foundation built by our elementary educators and for the exemplary teachers at PCHS. A special thanks to our Beta Coordinator, sponsors, and officers for creating such a memorable event for our students and families,” said Principal Mrs. Hope Perry.

The rest of the club is excited to see these new members prosper as the year progresses. We hope to see them attend the Virginia State Convention in February and participate in the upcoming fall service projects. We pray that these inductees will fall in love with Beta just as we have.
National Beta CEO, Bobby Hart, offered his congratulations to the students. “The skills and opportunities that come from National Beta membership impact students not only during their time in school, but as they move forward in life. We are proud of these new inductees and are excited to see how they grow as leaders and positively impact the world.”
