The Lady Cougars got a win over Chatham at home on Monday, Jan. 6. Chatham jumped out to a quick 9-1 lead, but the Lady Cougars weren’t ready to give in. PC went in the locker room at halftime down by two, but came out strong in the second half, taking a 54-51 win.
Coach Donny Rakes said, “It was a really good win for our team. We started out sluggish, but Chatham had a lot do with that. They bring really good pressure, and we didn’t respond well. Big shout out to Logan McGhee with 12 points, seven coming at crunch time in 4th quarter, and seven rebounds. Sierra was just amazing, keeping us in the game in the first half almost by herself. She is just a special player. Hats off to Chatham. They are a good basketball team. We were fortunate to win this game. Very proud of my kids. They didn’t give up.”
