The 11th annual Front Porch Fest, produced by One Family Productions and presented by Patrick County, will be held Aug. 29 through Sept. 1.
Front Porch Fest (FPF) will feature an exciting slate of local, regional, and national acts. Held on the front porch to the Blue Ridge mountains, this annual event weaves together a love of music and community, with attendees invited to ‘Experience the Simple Life in Patrick County.’
“With a strong vote from the Tourism Advisory Council, Patrick County Tourism is proud to be the Title Sponsor for FPF this year. FPF is a such a diverse festival for all ages, with top notch entertainment that gives so much back to our county. It is a great honor to partner with FPF,” said Sandra Belcher, director of Tourism and Marketing for Patrick County.
The partnership with the county “illustrates the abundance of passion that exists in this area,” Sarah Wray, vice president of company, said. “Folks are working together with the common goal of supporting community enrichment and growth, and what’s more beautiful and empowering than that?”
Voted the Most Family Friendly event in the Best of the Blue Ridge contest sponsored by Blue Ridge Outdoors, this year’s fest is set to be dynamic. In addition to more than 30 bands, the festival will include an array of children’s activities, yoga, campsite jams, on-site camping, craft brews and foods, and more.
The fest was born out of the idea that life is art, and music is at the soul. Creators and lovers of music and movement come together in an intimate outdoor setting to enjoy a full weekend of local, regional, and national performers. The soul of the festival is firmly seated in its rich heritage of community connections and service, ideals which inspired the creation of One Family Productions (OFP), the non-profit organization that produces the festival.
The organization works towards meeting the mission of promoting and supporting community enrichment and growth by creating impactful partnerships and events that are accessible, innovative and engaging.
Over the past decade, One Family Productions has donated nearly $20,000 to local charities, and continues to increase its contributions each year. Though its impact grows larger, the festival maintains its grassroots and family friendly identity. Front Porch Fest will always feel like home, whether it’s your first year or your eleventh.
Wray said “Patrick County has always been our home, and there’s nothing we love more than sharing its beauty, the people, the culture and the breathtaking sites. Our work is grounded in making our region an accessible, innovative, and engaging hub that cultivates collaboration.
