Each year, 6th and 7th grade students are invited to write an essay expressing their view on an annual patriotic theme.
This year the theme was “America’s Gift to My Generation.” Veteran Don Worley, from VFW Post 8467, presented awards to two 7th graders: Hayleigh Jenkins, first place and Alexis Lemons, second place. Woolwine Elementary School Principal Jeannie King and seventh grade teacher, Linda Hopkins, appreciate the post and their support of the school and students.
