PC O’Zone goes to state

The Dixie All Star baseball team headed to compete in the state championship in South Hill on Saturday. Coaches of the team include Tal Swails, Sonny Swails, Clay Sawyers, and Brian Jessup.

On Saturday, the team defeated the Rustburg All-Stars with a score of 10-7. Tucker Swails got the win on the mound by throwing two scoreless innings and gave up 0 hits, walked one and had a total of five strike outs.

Hunter Pendleton went for a solid 2 2/3 innings, giving up only one run on three hits while striking out three.

PC scored 10 runs on 10 hits during the night. Tucker Swails and Bubba Taylor got things started off early with first inning home runs, Swails with a three run and Taylor a solo.
Gavin Fain and Martin Sawyer both had two hits each with Swails, Taylor, Braedon Augustine, Liam Jones, Ben Hiatt and Hunter Pendleton all had one hit each.

Patrick County took the 10-1 lead into the last inning and ended up using three pitchers and giving up six unearned runs.
