The JV Baseball Team lost to Cave Spring on the road 5-13 on Wednesday, March 28.
Camden Nowlin was the starting pitcher for the Cougars, going three innings, striking out one, walking two, and allowing nine hits.
Kase Leftwich came in as relief to pitch three innings, striking out none, walking two, and allowing three hits. Camden Nowlin, Carson Merriman, and Kase Leftwich all had one hit and one RBI.
Nash Thompson and Hunter Strole added a hit and Grayson Howell had an RBI.
When asked about the loss, Coach Rakes said, “We are extremely young in terms of facing adversity at this level. We had 15 base runners and scored five runs. It’s a learning experience. We continue to grow with a young team. I like my kids. We have got to take of the little things to win these games.”
The JV Cougars are now 3-4 on the season.
