After a summer break, the Patrick County Music Association’s (PCMA) monthly shows will return Saturday, Oct. 25. The event will be held at the Patrick County High School auditorium, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and music beginning at 6 p.m.

PCMA President Denny Alley said The Country Boys, a longtime favorite at PCMA shows, will headline the night’s lineup.
Tobacco Road and Twin Creeks String Band will also take the stage.
“Twin Creeks String Band — it took me two years to book them. They’re from Ferrum and very popular,” Alley said.
While he’s unsure how to classify their sound, Alley said audiences really enjoy their performances.
He described Tobacco Road, from Mount Airy, N.C., as a bluegrass group.
“They have a girl that plays the fiddle and sings like Alison Krauss. They’ve got a good band,” he said.
The November show will be the Veterans Appreciation Show, featuring Harrison Ridge with special guests Starlett & Big John.
Alley said the December show will be the annual Sammy Shelor’s Banjorama, sponsored by Hopkins Lumber. It will feature the Lonesome River Band along with about a dozen other musicians.
Admission to all PCMA shows is by donation. Concessions will be available for purchase from the Patrick County Shooting Education Team, with proceeds supporting firearm safety education for local youth.
