Former U.S. Representative Tom Perriello kicked off his gubernatorial campaign last week.
The Ivy democrat who unseated six-term Republican Virgil Goode Jr. in the 2008 election, will square off against Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam in the June primary.
Ed Gillespie, a former Republican National Committee chairman; Corey Stewart, President-elect Donald J. Trump’s onetime state campaign chairman; and State Senator Frank Wagner of the Tidewater region, will vie for the GOP primary.
The election will be held November 7.
