Statements for 2018 Personal Property Taxes were mailed to taxpayers in Patrick County on Thursday September 20, 2018.
Each taxpayer should receive a statement for any personal property such as cars, trucks, mobile homes, business equipment, machinery and tools registered on your tax record as of January 1, 2018.
If you do not receive a tax statement, call the Patrick County Treasurer’s Office at (276) 694-7257.
Failure to receive a statement does not relieve one from the penalty and interest added after the due date.
Mail or bring the bottom portion of the statement(s) with you when paying your taxes.
Additionally, the second installment of the 2018 Real Estate Tax is due on December 5, 2018.
The 2018 Real Estate statements were mailed around the end of April with two payment stubs. A reminder was included as an insert and placed in with the personal property statements.
The first payment was due on June 5 and the second payment is due December 5, 2018.
Payments received will be applied to oldest tax owed, as provided by Virginia Code, Section 58.1-3913.
If your Real Estate statement has been misplaced and you do not know the amount due in December, contact the Treasurer’s office.
The tax due date is Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018. A 10 percent penalty will be added starting on Dec. 6, 2018, and 10 percent per annum interest starts to accrue 26 days after the due date.
