Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) will host its annual fundraising golf tournament on Monday, August 28 to raise money for the educational needs of student-athletes at the college.
The 18-hole captain’s choice tournament will be held at the Primland Golf Course in Meadows of Dan, and will include a luncheon, longest drive and hole-in-one contests, and an awards ceremony. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Tee-off is at 1 p.m.
The funds raised during the golf tournament support all athletic programs at PHCC by providing state-of-the-art equipment and facilities and ensuring that scholarships are available for students in need.
“This tournament has become a fun and important annual event to support PHCC students,” Athletic Director Brian Henderson, said. “Thanks to the generosity of the many people who make it successful, we can make a significant difference in students’ lives—providing them access to high-quality higher education and an opportunity to compete in the ultra-competitive NJCAA [National Junior College Athletics Association].”
The PHCC Foundation will be the presenting sponsor for the event, continuing its long tradition of supporting the community and students.
“We want to thank Primland for hosting this year’s tournament,” said Henderson. “Special thanks to the members of the PHCC Foundation, golfers, sponsors, and supporters for their continued contributions which create opportunities for the hundreds of student-athletes PHCC has each year.”
