Patrick Henry Community College is hosting two open houses for the public on August 2, from noon to 2 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitors can drop in anytime to tour facilities, meet faculty, and have their questions answered about financial aid options, admissions, career opportunities, or anything else.
The programs being highlighted include: Administration of Justice/Criminal Justice, Administrative Support Technology, Automotive, Auto Body, Building Trades, Business Management, Computer Aided Drafting Design (CADD);
Culinary Arts and Hospitality, Education/Early Childhood, Engineering Technology, Horticulture, Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC), Industrial Electronics, Information Technology;
Legal Assisting, Motorsports, Pharmacy Tech, Therapeutic Massage, Viticulture, Welding, and Workforce Development (short-term career training).
“This is a great opportunity for prospective students of all ages to learn what we have to offer,” said Jeff Fields, dean of professional technologies and health science. “If they have ever wondered if a certain career is right for them, are looking to change professions, or just aren’t sure what to do—this allows them to explore.”
Most of the facilities are located in Philpott Hall in Martinsville; however, visitors should drive to the main campus to receive further directions and information.
