Patrick Henry Community College will offer a series of culinary classes.
• Global Cuisine-Poland: Learn to make authentic Polish specialties, including pierogi (dumplings stuffed with potatoes, cheese, or other savory fillings) from scratch and a traditional pastry for dessert. Class will meet Thursday, September 29 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $25.
• Global Cuisine-Greece: Learn to make authentic Greek specialties, including dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) and baklava (a rich, layered pastry with honey and nuts). Class will meet Thursday, October 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $25.
• The Art of Chocolate: Learn the art of tasting dark chocolates from around the world as you learn about their origins, how to temper chocolate, and make your own bars. Class will meet Wednesdays, October 5-19 from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $35; a supply fee of $30 is payable to the instructor.
• Cake Decorating: Learn the techniques and tools of the trade to decorate beautiful cakes just in time for the holiday season. Classes will meet Thursdays, November 3-10 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The cost is $50.
