Patrick Henry Community College’s Divison of Workforce, Economic and Community Development will offer jewelry classes in April.
• Introduction to Wire-Wrapped Jewelry: Daytime classes perfect for retirees or a mom’s morning out. Students will learn the basics of wirewrapping using multiple gauges and types of metals. Several jewelry pieces will be completed during the class. The instructor will be Kara Carter-Hundley. Classes will meet Fridays, April 1-22 from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost is $60.
• Shaping Metals and Wires in Jewelry: Learn basic techniques in jewelry fabrication. Projects include sawing, texture with hammers, dapping, rivets & etching. Several projects will be completed. The instructor will be Susan Weeks and the cost is $89. Classes will meet Thursdays, April 7-May 5 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Classes will be held at Piedmont Arts in Martinsville.
