For the second consecutive year, the Patrick Henry Community College volleyball team won the NJCAA Division III Region X championship, defeating Sandhills Community College in five sets (23-25, 25-17, 26-24, 20-25, 15-10) on Saturday in Pinehurst, N.C.
Freshman Kaleigh Griffith of Stuart earned Second Team All-Region honors.
The team, only in its second year of existence, moves to 20-3 overall and hosts Northampton Community College (Bethlehem, Pa.) Saturday, October 29 at noon for the District H championship. The winner of that contest heads to the NJCAA national tournament in Rochester, Minn. on November 11.
