Therapy Direct is currently providing services in the former Medicomp PT building in Stuart.
A soft opening is underway, with plans to ramp up as needed, according to Scott Eutsler, a physical therapist at the clinic.
“We’re adding days as required, but we are open and seeing people,” Eutsler said. “I feel like within a couple of months we will be back up top where we were before all this happened.”
He was referring to the March 20 closing of the business by its parent company, Enduracare Acute Care Services.
“When this closure was announced, along with our apologies to the community, we promised to be back,” Eutsler said. “After considering multiple options, the former Medicomp PT has partnered with Therapy Direct, a highly respected provider of rehab services in Martinsville.
“Our new clinic will operate under that name, and all services previously available to our patients will continue to be offered” at the clinic, which is located at 817 Woodland Drive, Eutsler said.
The sign on the building still says Medicomp, but that soon will be changed, he said.
“We wanted to offer the service before we’re technically ready to open. We decided we would do a soft opening, but we want people to know they’re able to contact their doctor and get in,” Eutsler said.
Currently, staffing is limited, “but we’re ramping up and we will add staff as needed,” Eutsler said.
“If you, a friend or loved one needs Physical Therapy care, simply contact your primary care provider and ask them to send a referral to Therapy Direct by calling 276-692-3002 or by faxing orders to 276-692-3003,” he said, adding that some also may qualify for “Direct Access to PT services and we will be happy to explain this to you if you’d like to call personally.”
Eutsler added that “we are so grateful for the trust placed in us in the past by the Patrick County community and the medical professionals who allow us to assist their patients. We at Therapy Direct look forward to continuing to assist our patient to maximize their function and minimize their pain.”
