On Election Day, which is Tuesday, Nov. 8, all Patrick County polling locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sample ballots are printed in this newspaper showing the names of the candidates, the constitutional amendments and the local meals-tax referendum.
The Patrick County registrar reminds voters to please bring photo ID to the polls on Election Day, as is required by Virginia law. According to the website elections.virginia.gov, acceptable photo IDs include: a Virginia driver’s license; a Virginia DMV-issued photo ID; a U.S. passport; and employer-issued photo ID; a student photo ID from a school, college or university located in Virginia; another U.S. form of Virginia government-issued photo ID; a tribal enrollment or other tribal photo ID, or a Virginia Voter Photo ID card.
Anyone who does not already have an acceptable photo ID can get one free from any registrar’s office. For additional info, call the Patrick County Registrar’s office at (276) 694-7206.
Any registered voter who needs to vote by absentee ballot can do so in person at the Patrick County Registrar’s office, located in Room 216C of the Patrick County Administration Building on Rucker Street in Uptown Stuart. The final day and time for in-person voting is Saturday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m.
