The Virginia Cattlemen’s Association (VCA) selected Brandon Reeves as its executive director.
Reeves brings a wealth of experience in both cattle and legislative issues to his new role.
A Virginia native, Reeves grew up on his family beef operation in the Shenandoah Valley. Livestock judging took him to Texas Tech for college, where he graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science and B.A. in Political Science.
After college, Reeves spent time working at the R.A. Brown Ranch in Texas before enrolling in Washington Lee School of Law, where he recently graduated. Before joining VCA, Reeves most recently served as the Government Affairs Manager for the U.S. Beet Sugar Association. Previously, he also worked as an agriculture lobbyist for Combest, Sell & Associates and was a Law Clerk for the House Agriculture Committee during the 2018 Farm Bill conference.
“I am incredibly excited to be back in Virginia working for the industry I am most passionate about.” Reeves said.
VCA Board President Jay Calhoun said, “We were fortunate to find someone as young but experienced to manage our organization.”
In his free time, Reeves enjoys helping coach local 4-H and FFA livestock judging teams and continues to be involved on his family’s beef cattle operation.
The Virginia Cattlemen’s Association was organized in 1944 and chartered in 1953 to promote the profit potential of Virginia’s cattle industry.
