The Reynolds Homestead’s registration is open for the spring term of its College for Older Adults, a program for people ages 50 and older.
This year’s walking group will be touring historic towns in North Carolina and Virginia. A trip to Shelton Vineyards in Dobson, with lunch at its award-winning Harvest Grill is on tap. History talks include former Rocket Boy Roy Cooke, and will feature subjects such as local Cherokee history, the rock churches of the area, and the Melungeons of Appalachia.
In addition to Tai Chi, Yoga for Fitness and Move It or Lose It!, a fourth class will explore health and nutrition through the book “Fortify Your Life.”
The six-week College for Older Adults requires a $50 membership fee, which allows participants to take unlimited classes from the 40 available. Some art classes have minimal materials fee. There is a reduced membership rate of $35 for those interested in only the hiking and walking classes.
Registration is due Friday, April 14, but early registration is encouraged. The spring term runs through May 25. For more info and to register, visit reynoldshomestead.vt.edu, stop by the Continuing Education Center, or call Lisa Martin at (276) 694-7181.
