Patrick County’s own Kristian Reynolds competed in the Virginia 3A Cross Country state meet last Friday. Reynolds finished with a time of 17.38.00. Reynolds placed 54th out of 104 runners. Reynolds finished just a little less than two minutes off the winning pace.
Reynolds’ coach, Lynne Deckel, said, “Kristian represented Patrick County well and ran tough. We are very proud of how he performed and represented our school and community. He demonstrated perseverance and determination and left it all out on the course. You can’t ask more from an athlete than a top effort and he gave 110 percent. I couldn’t be a prouder coach.”
Reynolds led the Cougars’ cross-country team as a sophomore.
