Mr. Robert Michael Diesel, 71 of Stuart, VA passed away peacefully at Harmony Memory Care, in Roanoke, VA on Friday, October 31, 2025. He was born in New York on March 14, 1954, to the late Edward Joseph “Big Ed” Diesel and Maye “Nanny” Wherry Diesel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Adah Eleanor Brown Diesel, a sister, Mary Shnitzer and a brother, Edward Diesel.
He is survived by one daughter, Chandra Lynn Puckett and husband Gary of Baymon, Puerto Rico, one son, Ethan Michael Diesel and Fiancé Emily Beadles of South Boston, VA; three grandchildren, Hendrix Caito Puckett, Reznor Slate Puckett, and Avett Lydall Puckett, three brothers Donald Diesel and wife Patricia of New York, David Diesel of South Carolina, and Raymond Diesel and wife Joy of North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Diane Diesel of New York; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, caregivers, special friends and pets.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 23, 2025. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to a caring community. Many thanks go out to neighbors, friends, and good Samaritans. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Patrick County Library, P.O. Box 787, Stuart, VA 24171. Robert was an avid reader, and he spent many fond hours there.
