SCC offering English as a Second Language class

Surry Community College’s College and Career Readiness Program will offer free English as a Second Language (ESL) at different locations throughout Surry County, N.C.
The ESL program provides a way for speakers of other languages to attend classes to learn English communication skills, as well as American customs and history.
Classes will be held at The Elkin Center, 1461 North Bridge Street, Elkin, N.C.; January 4, 2016, through May 5, 2016, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Classes will be held at Elkin Elementary School, 135 Old Virginia Road, Elkin; January 5 through May 5, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Classes will be held at Jones Family Resource Center, 215 Jones School Road, Mount Airy, N.C.; January 4 through May 5, Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Classes will be held at Surry Community College, Room 277 in the H-Building, Dobson, N.C., January 5 through May 5, with a choice of class times. Participants can attend Monday through Thursday classes from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Wednesday, and Thursday classes from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.; Friday classes from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
