Surry Community College is offering a one-day pruning workshop on Saturday, December 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for those interested in learning more about viticulture. The class will be led by Surry’s Viticulture Instructor Joseph Geller.
This class will provide essential principles and practices of grapevine pruning. It will include both classroom and field sessions to introduce important concepts and key techniques related to quality assurance, crop yield and disease mitigation. Attendants will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience in Surry’s campus vineyard and implement a multitude of various pruning styles.
Participants will meet in Room 113 of the Shelton-Badgett North Carolina Center for Viticulture & Enology, 630 S. Main St., Dobson, N.C. Pre-registration and pre-payment of $25 are required. For registration and additional information, call (336) 386-3618.
