The Patrick County High School (PCHS) golf team will host its annual scholarship tournament along with family and friends of Leon Martin on Saturday, August 25.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will provide academic scholarships for members of the team. The scholarship fund requires recipients to be active members of the team, excel in academics, and to declare their intentions to enroll in some sort of secondary education program.
The tournament will be held in the memory of Leon Martin, who was a golf pro at Gordon Trent’s and who also was an avid supporter of PCHS athletics.
Teams are needed for the tournament. The four-man, captains choice format is $200 per team or $50 per player. If you cannot find enough people to make a full team, you can be paired up with others. For more information, contact Philip Stegall at (276) 692-5559 or Janice Largen at (276) 229-1014.
Hole sponsorship is available for $50 which will advertise your business. Prize donations or volunteering are other ways you can help.
