Recently, Cub Scouts from the Patrick Henry District recently gathered at Franklin County Park for a fun time of learning.
There were many activities for the Cubs to try, including archery, BB guns, geology, knots, setting up tents and making Native American fry bread. It was a great chance for the boys to have hands-on experience with some activities that they normally do not get to see.
At the end of the day they ate a meal that was prepared by older Scouts and leaders. This was topped off with an evening movie and popcorn.
It was a great weekend and the youth and adults had a wonderful time. This is one of several yearly events that Cub Scouts take part in that gives them the opportunity to learn and have fun.
The Patrick Henry District is part of the Blue Ridge Mountains Council, Boy Scouts of America. The district encompasses the counties of Franklin, Henry and Patrick, the towns of Rocky Mount and Stuart and the city of Martinsville.
