Patrick authorities and those with the Surry County (N.C.) Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) on Friday searched for the remains of a woman missing since last summer.
Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith said Surry County and North Carolina authorities executed a search warrant on Friday at a location in Surry County.
“There was an excavation of a location in Surry County. Nothing was found,” Smith said.
The warrant was to search for the remains of Sara Ashley Hill, 34, Smith said.
Hill is about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, and has blue eyes and red hair.
Her last known location was Blue Hollow Road in Mount Airy, N.C., in June, according to previous reports.
“We are following up on every lead we receive,” Smith said.
Anyone with any information about Hill’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Smith at (276) 692-7012 or their local authorities.
