The search for a man missing for four days continued Wednesday, according to Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith.
Charles Edward Martin Jr., 56, of Shingle Shop Road, Stuart, and an employee of Stuart Forest Products, has not been seen or heard from since around 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14.
Smith said Martin was reported missing Monday, Jan. 16.
“We are actively conducting an investigation right now,” he said.
Smith said officers are searching roadways, conducting aerial searches, and flying roadways.
“His vehicle’s missing, he’s missing, and they were last seen around 4 p.m. on Saturday, so we believe he left driving,” he said.
Martin drove a 2005 Champagne Ford Explorer with the VA tags USP-6589. There should be a Washington Redskins logo on the back glass.
Smith said his office is receiving assistance from surrounding agencies in the search for Martin.
“We’ve given North Carolina” the information. “We’ve broadcasted the information regionally to assist in the search,” he said.
The Patrick County Patriots are also helping search roadways.
“Right now, we have done and are currently doing search warrants on electronic devices and locations and things like that,” he said.
Those with information regarding the case, sightings of Martin or his vehicle, are asked to call the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office at (276) 694-3161, or Oscar Tejeda, investigator, at (276) 222-0460.
