The 2017 Virginia Junior Beta Convention was held February 8-9, in Williamsburg.
Fourth through eighth grade Junior Beta students from all over the state attend the convention to compete in team and individual competitions. Stuart Elementary School took 20 students to the convention. Madison Mullis and Lillian Byers, sixth grade students, took home first place in the Special Talent Competition. The girls performed a tap dance to “Friends.” They will be traveling to Orlando, Fla. in June to represent Virginia in the National Junior Beta Convention Special Talent Competition. Both girls are students at the Patrick County Dancing Arts Center.
