Shirley Adkins Martin, 74, of Patrick Springs, died on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at her residence
She was born on July 29, 1942 in Franklin County to the late Charlie Raymond Adkins and the late Elizabeth Haynes Adkins. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Hall and Polly Hancock.
Surviving are her husband, Roy Martin; daughter, Teresa Greer Spencer; son, James Edward Greer; son, Randy Lee Martin Sr.; daughter, Kimberley Martin; sisters, Mary Ingram, and Faye Linkious; brothers, Charlie Adkins Jr. and Buddy Adkins; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and all the children she cared for during the years.
The family will receive friends today (Wednesday) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m .in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at noon with Pastor Terry Dalton officiating. Burial will be in County Line Church of God of Prophecy cemetery.
