The Stokes County Arts Council presents artist Fran Speight in the Apple Gallery, 500 Main Street, Danbury, N.C. This exhibit, on display until May 31, features works in oils and pastels.
“My passion is painting the landscape, to capture the ever changing light and colors in the natural elements that surround us,” Speight said. “I want to take the viewer on a visual journey, to feel the light and color of a place and time, and perhaps a memory.”
Speight worked in local galleries for 33 years as a professional framer. Now retired, she devotes her time to painting and has studied with noted artists Jack Perdue, Debra Paris, Susan Ogilive, Patty Bailey Sheets, and Sharon Grubb.
