Varsity Girls Get Easy Win
The Varsity Lady Cougars sailed to an easy 47-5 victory when they hosted Glenvar, Wednesday, January 3. Aniya Penn had 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 steals in the win. Lilly Hazelwood had 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. Kendra Worley had 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Kimora Wimbush had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block.
JV Girls Get Win Over Glenvar
The JV Lady Cougars got a 35-18 win against Glenvar, Wednesday, January 3. Gracen Conner led the Cougar offense with 13 points, 5 steals, 2 assists, and 1 rebound.
Chloe Hubbard had 4 steals, 6 rebounds, and 4 points. Aubreigh Large had 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 point. Martina Hubbard had 4 steals, 1 assist, and 4 points. Lauren Hazelwood led the team in steals with 8 steals and had 2 rebounds and 2 points.
“I am very proud of how my ladies share the ball and work together as a team. We recently lost a player to an injury, and we pulled up a middle school player. The ladies are adjusting and working hard in practice. I am really proud of them,” said Coach Grace Helms.
JV Lady Cougars Beat Radford
The JV Lady Cougars got a big 35-30 win over Radford, Friday, January 5. The Cougars got behind after the tip off but came back to have an 11-6 lead at the end of the 1st. The PC defense stepped up in the 2nd, allowing only 2 Radford points.
Chloe Hubbard had 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, and 9 points. Gracen Conner had 5 steals, 3 assists, 8 points, and 2 rebounds. Meredith Wood had 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and 4 points. Lacey Sutphin had 4 points, 1 steal and 1 rebound. Lauren Hazelwood had 7 steals, 3 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist.
