PC Boys Win Third Game of the Week
The PC Boys Varsity Basketball Team were 3-3 last week after a 59-53 win at Halifax on Friday, January, 20. Jai Penn led the Cougars with 17 points. David Smith had 13 points, Payton Stovall had 10, Jalen Hagwood had 9, and Michael Nelson put up 7.
Coach Brian Chitwood said, “Our kids played hard. They led a majority of the game, but kudos to the Halifax team. They made a hard run, cutting the lead to 1 point late in the 4th. However, our kids did what they had to do and extended the lead and closed it out at the free-throw line. Big win for our young guys!”

“The kids played hard and kept their composure in a tough environment,” said Coach Donnie Rakes. “We really scrapped on defense and that was the difference in a very physical ball game.”
Varsity Girls Lose to Chatham
The PC Varsity Girls suffered a 43-56 loss on the road against the Cavaliers on Wednesday, January 18. Missy Hazard had 14 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assists in the game. Aniya Penn had 7 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 assist. Kimora Wimbush had 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal.
“An extremely physical, hard-fought game is probably the best way to describe this contest. We wanted it a little bit more in the first half, they wanted it more in the 2nd half. A tale of two halves was the difference in the ball game,” said Coach Donnie Rakes.
