obit Wright, StephanieStephanie Carol Wright, age 38, of Woolwine, died Saturday, March 19, 2016, at her home.
She was born in Durham, N.C., on November 21, 1977. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Mae Hall Wright; her paternal grandfather, E.A. Wright; and two stepbrothers, David Lee Thompson and Kenneth Thompson Sr.
She was a 1995 graduate of Patrick County High School and was a member of Smith River Church of the Brethren. She was affectionately known as the “Cat Lady”. Surviving are her father and stepmother, Gary and Cindy Grubb Wright of Bassett; her maternal grandparents, Thurman and Lony Hylton Hall of Woolwine; her paternal grandmother, Virginia “Tootsie” Pilson Wright of Stuart; a stepsister, Lisa Ellis of Norfolk; a stepbrother, James “Lacy” Thompson of Bassett; several nieces and nephews; and all her beloved pets.
Funeral services were held Tuesday evening at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Danny Gilley officiating. Burial was private. In Memorial contributions may be made to PAWS, P.O. Box 743, Stuart, VA 24171; or to the Smith River Church of the Brethren, 1386 Bob White Rd., Stuart, VA 24171.
