Denise Stirewalt was selected Tuesday to fill the GOP vacancy in the Peter’s Creek District race for the Patrick County Board of Supervisors.
The tally was taken during a special meeting of the Patrick County Republican Committee, with only members of Peters Creek District voting.
Stirewalt and Keith Puckett now will vie for the post in the November election.
After winning the Republican Committee’s nod earlier this year, Eric O’Connell withdrew from the contest citing personal reasons.
His wife, Bethnney O’Connell, who had previously announced that she would seek the Peter’s Creek District seat on the Patrick County School Board, also withdrew.
