The New College Institute (NCI) in Martinsville recently donated 150 face shields to Patrick County Public Schools.
Jason Wood, Director of Operations Patrick schools, said, “Patrick County Public Schools is moving to a four-day-per-week in-person instructional model beginning March 15, and these shields will serve as an added mitigation strategy to keep our students and staff safe. We are very fortunate to have wonderful partners like NCI.”
Earlier this year, NCI also donated 250 face shields to help in the reopening of schools.
Brian Pace, the Coordinator of Advanced Manufacturing with NCI, supervised the manufacturing and assembly of the face shields. The shields were 3-D printed in the Advanced Manufacturing Lab at New College Institute.
