Patrick County real estate tax statements for this year (2020 ), were mailed April 21.
The statement design is the same as in last year — one statement with two payment stubs. The first half of 2020 real estate tax is due June 5, 2020 and the second half is due Dec. 7, 2020. Taxpayers are mailed one notice for each real estate parcel owned, and it is up to the taxpayer to bring or mail their payment by each due date.
Read the statement carefully. Each stub states the appropriate due date and the amount due. If taxpayers wish, they may pay the annual amount in full by sending both payment stubs, along with the annual amount, by the June 5 due date.
Reminder notices will not be issued or mailed.
A 10 percent penalty is added to the first half of unpaid taxes starting on June 6. Interest at a rate of 10 percent per annum will begin to accrue on unpaid taxes and penalty 26 days after each due date.
An insert is included with the tax statements explaining the real estate due dates.
