Another year is about to close, and I dare say most of us are thinking of what we plan to do differently in 2022. The challenges we have experienced, the disappointments, the pains and heartaches, physical and mental challenges and deaths of loved ones and friends – all are factors in our planning for a better 2022. There are some of us that are making our New Year’s resolutions and designing the perfect weight loss plan, and the “I am going to do better” lists. We are focusing on a better 2022.
We are surviving COVID-19 and the variants, economic fluctuations, and residual effects that come along with them. We look back at all that has transpired in 2021 and we plan to treat others better in the coming year. For some of us, we are mentally analyzing what went wrong and how we perceive to fix them. There are yet some of us that are making a list of all those that we need to let go from our lives. We plan to make 2022 the best year ever.
My words for this last week in 2021 to you are to live, laugh, forgive, and love fervently. Pray, fast, and give God glory (Colossians 3:17) for He is the reason that we live and have our being. Plan to incorporate Him (Deuteronomy 13:4) in your life more than you ever have. Trust God to guide you; let Him make the imperfections of your life perfect (Proverbs 3:5-6). “But the Lord’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken” (Psalms 33:11 NLT).
If you have tried all you know to try, try Jesus and watch 2022 truly be the best year ever. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11).
Now may the God of peace – who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood – may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. (Hebrews 13:20-21 NLT)
