Patrick County Sheriff’s Deputy Randy Clark, Capt. Ward Stone, Deputy Brad Holt, Deputy Jason Kruse, Scott Wagoner, Rebecca Adcock and Lindsey Smart participated in the 2017 Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Participants departed the steps of the Patrick County Courthouse at 7 a.m. June 5th and ran the “Flame of Hope” to the Henry County line, where the torch was passed to runners from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement officers and others run the “Flame of Hope” to the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics competition. It will be carried to the capitol steps in Richmond.
Deputy Randy Clark, who organized the local event, said this marked the 10th year Patrick County has joined the more than 85,000 law enforcement agencies worldwide to participate in the fund-raising event.
