The Patrick County Boys Varsity Soccer team won big, 2-1 over the Bassett Bengals on Wednesday, April 24; improving to 7-4-1 on the season.
The Bengals went into halftime with a 1-0 lead after Jesus Jiminez scored a goal off of Daniel Devivo’s pass during the 14th minute of the game.
Patrick County came out with the pressure though, playing tough defense and working the midfield. The Cougars finally put themselves on the scoreboard in the 59th minute with a header by Luis Ramirez off a corner kick by Edgar Olivares.
Patrick County scored again 11 minutes later when Seth Wright put a low pass into the corner of the goal after a deflection off a Bassett defender. Martin Morse, the keeper, had 15 saves in the goal.
