The Virginia Department of Forestry in partnership with the Virginia Urban Wood Group, Trees Virginia, and U.S. Forest Service, will sponsor the Mid-Atlantic Urban Wood Forum titled “Applied Practices in Utilization” August 15-16 in Richmond.

This two-day event will be held at the Richmond Marriott Short Pump and will feature a host of urban wood experts from across the United States providing techniques and examples of successful programs and projects from government, associations and entrepreneurs.

The target audience for this forum includes arborists, tree care companies, forestry professionals, service providers, wood crafters, municipality staff, academia and portable sawmill owners. Registration is now open at http://www.treesvirginia.org/events/paid/74-mauwf.
