Fourteen students entered the 2019 4-H Area Speech/Presentation/Share the Fun Contest on Saturday, May 4 at Riverlawn Elementary School in Pulaski County. Students qualified to participate in the Area Contest through competing in local 4-H county contests held this spring.
Students participating in the speech category included Callie Wood from Meadows of Dan Elementary winning a blue ribbon and trophy, Sierra Easter from Blue Ridge Elementary winning a blue ribbon, Oren Osborne from Woolwine Elementary winning a blue ribbon, and Katherine Wood from Meadows of Dan Elementary winning a blue ribbon.
Students participating in the presentation category included Seth Geiger from Hardin Reynolds Memorial winning a blue ribbon and trophy in the Animal Science; Livestock category. Sabrina Rorrer from Meadows of Dan Elementary winning a blue ribbon and trophy in the Animal Science; Other category. Emily Ring from Woolwine Elementary winning a blue ribbon and trophy in the Communication and Expressive Arts category. Miranda Epperson from Blue Ridge Elementary winning a blue ribbon in the Foods, Nutrition, & Health; Other category. Haley Gilley from Hardin Reynolds Memorial winning a blue ribbon and trophy in the Leadership and Personal Development category. Eli Stiltner from Stuart Elementary winning a blue ribbon and trophy in the Science and Technology category. Whitley Kruse from Hardin Reynolds Memorial winning a blue ribbon and trophy in the Foods, Nutrition, & Health; Snacks category.
Students participating in the Share the Fun contest included Chazity Rodriguez from Blue Ridge Elementary winning a blue ribbon for her vocal performance to “Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts. Callie Wood from Meadows of Dan Elementary winning a blue ribbon and trophy for her vocal and piano performance to “Hills and Valleys” by Tauren Wells. Curtis Busick from Blue Ridge Elementary winning a blue ribbon and trophy for his guitar performance of Rockin’ through the Decades which included the following songs: “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, “Back in Black” by AC/DC, “Enter Sandman” by Metallica, and an original tribute to Chuck Berry. Riley Hodges from Hardin Reynolds Memorial winning a blue ribbon for his original comedic performance of “Mrs. Caroline.”
