Coaches Joseph Edwards and Andrew Taylor have announced that the Patrick County Youth Wrestlers Club will hold a round-robin tournament Saturday at Patrick County High School at 10 a.m. The event is open to the public with a $2 charge for adults; all kids will be admitted free.
“This will be the first “tournament” that the kids will be able to wrestle each other, real matches where they will be able to score points and win,” Coach Taylor said.
Each wrestler will possibly be able to wrestle two, three or even four matches against their teammates in similar weight class.
“We have roughly 18-25 kids who come out each week for our practices. We hope that all of them will be here Saturday to compete,” said Coach Joseph Edwards.
The club consists of kindergartners to sixth graders who practice one evening a week at Stuart Elementary School.
