
At a recent Open Jam held at the Willis Gap Community Center, a young fiddle player, 8-year-old Lena Nichols, granddaughter of Tommy Nichols, performed and offered her rendition of “Old Joe Clark.”
The Open Jam is every Friday night. Doors open 6 p.m., with music that includes acoustic instruments, old-time, bluegrass, country and gospel, performed from 7 to 10 p.m.
Concessions that include freshly made slaw, and chili for hotdogs, chips, candy, popcorn, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water are available.
