The first Patrick County Public Schools Elementary School Round-Robin Wrestling Tournament was held at the Patrick County High School gym Saturday morning with over 25 elementary students participating in the event.
The tournament was held at the conclusion of the “season” for participants so that they could compete under actual match conditions. Wrestlers competed in three 90-second periods and were scored like a regular wrestling match. Three rounds were slated with each wrestler getting at least three matches in the tournament.
Thanks to Coaches Andrew Taylor and Joseph Edwards for working with the elementary wrestlers for the past several months and setting up the tournament for family and friends to see how far these young athletes have progressed!
