June 26, 2017 marked the 60th wedding anniversary of Ruffin and Geralyne Cockram Lynch. They were married June 26, 1957, at Mountain View Methodist Church in Patrick County.

Daughter and son-in-law Jerri and Tony Montgomery hosted a reception for the couple on Sunday, June 25 at the Reed Island Springs Baptist Church fellowship hall.

They have two children, Jerri Lynch Montgomery and son-in-law, Tony of Draper, and Jeannie Terry of Florida.

They have four grandchildren: Patty Lowder of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Anthony Terry and wife Sarah of Galax; Andrew Terry and Paige Bain of Ararat; and Lucas Terry of Patrick Springs.

They also have seven great-grandchildren: Amber Rippey of Clemmons, N.C.; Taylor and Will Lowder of Winston-Salem; Zachary and Hannah Terry of Galax, Beckham Terry of Ararat, and Alice Terry of Patrick Springs. They have two great-great-grandchildren: Brayden Hundley and Emmagail Rippey of Clemmons.

As a tribute to her parents, Jerri Montgomery published a collection of over 800 family recipes and favorite dishes:  “The Lynch Family Legacy: Our Favorite Recipes.” The cookbook was presented to her parents at the celebration; and friends and family were able to purchase copies of the family cookbook.

The fellowship hall was decorated by Faye Hill and Amy Hill Wood in silver and pale pink. The reception was catered, and a diamond-shaped cake was made by Sodonia Edwards of Hillsville, friend of the family.
