Recognized for her outgoing nature and humor, she touched many lives. She leaves behind several cousins in the Patrick County area, many of whom fondly share stories of the summers they all spent playing together at Grannie’s cabin in Dry Pond.
Bunny had many interests and enjoyed literature and history and was a world traveler, visiting many countries in Europe, the near East, and the Holy Land. She was also an Anglophile and visited the British Isles many times; from an early age she had a keen interest in the royal family lineage. She liked sports, NASCAR, and was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, attending many games at Memorial Stadium and Camden Yards.
The daughter of Grace Irene Pace Hodges and Rosser Elijah Hodges, she was born in Stuarts Draft, Virginia, and grew up there. A 1962 graduate of Wilson High School in Fishersville, Virginia, Bunny went on to attend business school and worked in Admissions at the University of Virginia for 47 years, facilitating hundreds of thousands of students to attend the school. A member of Ivy Creek United Methodist Church, in Charlottesville, she was a faith leader and involved in community outreach. She lived at The Colonnades Senior Living Community in Charlottesville.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Moss Pace Boles; and grandfather, John Henry Pace. Surviving her are her sister, Peggy Ann Hodges Church, of Staunton, Virginia; nephew, Robert Church, of Meadows of Dan, Virginia; niece, Julia Church (Randall Wolf), of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
