
Clyde Dixon Rimmer, 95, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026. He was born January 12, 1931.
A longtime resident of Burlington, North Carolina, Clyde worked for the railroad and later in manufacturing. Upon retirement, he moved to Patrick County, Virginia, where he and his wife Mina, made their home in the Appalachian mountains.
Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Almina Jane (McGee) Rimmer; his sons, Thomas Clyde Rimmer and William Miller Rimmer; and his parents, Clara Ann Dixon and Walter Lloyd Rimmer.
He is survived by his sister, Peggy Ann (Rimmer) Goldstein; four grandchildren, Sally Katherine Rimmer, Samuel James Rimmer, William Henry Rimmer, and Hannah Mae (Rimmer) White; his daughter-in-law, the spouse of William Henry, Cheryl Irene Rimmer; and his nine great-grandchildren, Henry James Vargas, Zachary Aaron Neuhaus, Evan Victor Neuhaus, Hubert Clyde Rimmer, William David Rimmer, Rebekah Marie Rimmer, Jacob Daniel Rimmer, Alison White, and Cathryn White.
Clyde was beloved by his family. He loved jazz, animals, and spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren.
