Pictured is Maude Culler, one of my classmates in high school from my graduating class (1952). Sending love and prayers to Maude at this time.

It was good to hear from Bertha Conner by telephone. She wants everyone to pray for her and Landis. She’s having some work done on her shoulder and Landis is having back surgery. Please put them on your prayer list.

I went on a little trip on the 27th to meet my remaining classmates of my graduation (1952) at Woodberry Inn for lunch. There is only seven of us remaining. I was sorry that Maude couldn’t come. It was a good day. I thought we all looked good for our ages. I’m hoping to have some photos soon for The Party Line.

Guess yard-sale mania is over now until Labor Day. There were surely a lot of them up and down the road.

Wanda’s Jewelry has a lovely flower bed in front of her store. Take time when you are in town to enjoy it. Stuart is a pretty little town.

The service at the Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church was beautiful and very spiritual. If you weren’t there, you missed a blessing on Sunday, May 28.

I was so sorry to hear of the death of Inez Barnard Hylton. She was a beautiful lady. My love and heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family.

The Food Ministry is still being blessed with a lot of food these days. There has been a bountiful supply of chicken these days.

I’m so thankful to be feeling pretty much like myself after that mean old cold virus. I was able to do a bit of painting.

The bears are out and about in our neighborhood. The other day, a mother and cub were walking out in the road when the school bus came by. The children were excited.

“Miss Claudine” Wood is still doing well these days and is blessed at 97 years. She loves company and has a lot of visitors, which she enjoys. She also likes her therapist.

Thanks to Dorothy Vipperman for sharing her homegrown eggs with me and surprising me with a gift to eat at Elizabeth’s. You are full of surprises.

I came by Vera Plaster’s (101 years old) and she was looking pretty and playing a game and was doing well at it. She’s an amazing person.

Helpful hint: Put coconut oil on sweet potatoes before roasting. Spread on whole-grain waffles, stir in oatmeal instead of butter. Season your cast-iron skillet. Dab on a cotton ball and use as eye-makeup remover.

CHUNKY CHEESEBURGER

MACARONI

LEMON

BLUEBERRY CAKE

Food for thought:

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves. They shall never cease to be amused.
